Entry: flash diashow widget
Description

The free flash diashow widget can be included in any page that wants to show several images in one place without wasting space on the page.

You can simply control the widget by passing flashvars to the swf file. One of the easiest ways is to use "swfobject", which is a javascript library that you need to include in the page where you want to view the diashow. Download swfobject from code.google.com.

The following flashvars can be used to control the widget:

  • base: the path to the folder where the images can be found
  • pictureString: a comma separated list of images you want the diashow to show
  • switchTime: number of milliseconds before the next image is shown

The following code shows an example of how you can add the diashow to your website if you do it with swfobject (you can do it also without).

<div id="diashowDiv"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
  var so = new SWFObject("diashow.swf", "diashow", "400", "300", "9", "#ffffff");
  so.addVariable("base","http://lab.urban-sky.net/flash_diashow_widget/images/");
  so.addVariable("pictureString","picture1.jpg,picture2.jpg,picture3.jpg,picture4.jpg,
  picture5.jpg,picture6.jpg,picture7.jpg,picture8.jpg");
  so.addVariable("switchTime",6000);
  so.addParam("quality", "best");
  so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");
  so.write("diashowDiv");
</script>
