Entry: cross correlation
This is a simple try to implement cross correlation in flash using Actionscript 3. Bigger search windows perform drastically slower than smaller ones. The correlation coefficient is calculated after transforming the color values from RGB to the HSL color system. Correlation is being compared with the lightness values of the HSL system.
There are several image pairs to play around with, all but the first are made from slightly different positions so that the cross correlation could be used to find matching pieces.

Be careful, setting the step parameter too high may slow down your computer!

Hi, I am very interested in this project. I am working on a project that needs to have a similar functionality and I was wondering if we could chat about your implementation of cross-correlation. Please email me so I can talk with you more about what you have done here. Thanks!
